A Day In The Life Of A Saybrook Student

As I have mentioned, one of my keys to abundant and intelligent travel has been studying at Saybrook University. This is because, due to the hybrid online platform, I can virtually be anywhere in the world while I complete my classes for the semester.

Saybrook is a special place for many reasons. As a graduate school primarily focused on humanistic psychology and mind body medicine it represents a collection of some of the most forward, creative, and compassionately thinking people in the world.

Currently, I am studying for my PhD in research psychology with a focus in transformative social change (for more on what that actually is, see here). I have now been at Saybrook for 3+ years, graduating from here with my Masters in the same discipline last year. I then started my PhD program the next day… So, spending as much time as I have in school I was tired of subduing my desire to travel and, as new opportunities began to arise, I figured why not at least try to make it work!

Now, as I have taken on the challenge of studying for and successfully completing my semester while traveling abroad, I have come to realize the unique benefits this type of situation can offer and learned some valuable lessons about how to make it all work!

Last semester, I visited a total of 6 countries while in school and what follows is an example of the various spots I was in while completing this. As a result, this represents what a day in the life of a student can be.

We all have the power within us to achieve the things in life we desire. It might not be easy, but damn..it’s fuckin worth it when you get there

🙂

Getting some uo close and personal psych experiences. Visiting Dr. Freud’s office in Vienna 😀 Ultimately, this is just a taste of what is possible when you set intentions and create a space open to possibility that helps you achieve those goals. A virtual education is one way to create that space and it has significantly benefited me throughout the 3+ years I have been engaged with it. Not only have I traveled the world and earned a degree in this time but, even more amazing, I have had the most incredible, rich, and lasting education of my life. At the end of each semester, no matter if I’ve been at home or on an adventure, I feel transformed by the things I have learned and I see them making a difference in my life every day. I am truly greatful for Saybrook and all the things it has allowed me to become aware of.
