Setting Intentions

With the new year upon us it is often a tradition to reflect on things accomplished in the previous year as well as towards the things desired in the upcoming months. For me, this primarily means thoughts about traveling.
For the past three years my experiences with travel have continued to grow exponentially and I intend for this year, and many more, to follow the same trajectory.
One of the most important things I have learned in life is the true power of this factor known as intention and the difference it makes in actually bringing ones wants and desires to life. While it is one thing to simply want something, it is another to state a dedicated and authentic intention to achieve it. The way I see it, this is an act of solidifying ones subjective thoughts in an objective way. Through placing a date and time to this loose concept, even if approximate, there is a new sense of permanence that begins to give these thoughts shape. And, when this occurs, these things become far more attainable.

In reflecting on the year that has been, it was a rough one for the world in many ways but a great one for me in terms of travel. In the last 12 months I have visited 6 new countries including Iceland, France, the United Arab Emirates, Greece, Germany, and the Netherlands as well as in country travel to Oregon, California, South Carolina, Rhode Island, and New York. Not too shabby I’d say ;p
In looking forward, I have even greater expectations that will hopefully keep me out of the United States as much as possible haha This post is dedicated to outlining the new intentions I am setting for all of the places I will see in 2017.
