Fashion Friday

This post is a recurring Friday post featuring the best pieces of fashion from shoes to dresses (with pockets!!) to hats and scarves! Things that are best suited for travel, ease, comfort, usability, lightweight, wrinkle proof,  and so many other things. I have not necessarily had these items myself, instead it mostly represents what is on my wish list for future travel 🙂

When considering air travel, there are important factors that extend beyond the challenges of purchasing affordable and painless airline tickets and this includes how you are going to prepare for actually carrying out this day. How are you going to pack (carry on only or a small backpack or purse and a checked bag etc) and, of course, how are you going to dress in order to be the most comfortable. This especially applies when doing long-haul flights internationally or even across the country.

I have been attempting to get my travel day outfit down for some time now, most success, I have found, comes from real life experience. During summer months, my selection of choice has been a long, flowy skirt, a crop top, a cardigan and a pair of Berkinstocks (oh yea ;)). However, living in the northwest, most of the time an outfit a summery as this does not quite work. As a result, I have been trying to find a new, warmer and more comfortable option. This has been challenging, jeans are too stiff and tough, tights too tight, shoes that rub and hurt, and getting too hot or too cold.

What I have learned from this:

-Bring an extra pair of clothes, a least a long sleeve sweater or tank top, in your bag to change into if conditions are different then you expect

-Dress in layers. Wear a tank, with a cardigan over it, then a sweatshirt, and an overcoat (I usually like to choose one that is light, rain proof, and runs long.

-Bring a big scarf that can act as a blanket or just keep you warm around your neck

But, now, there is something new I have found that could significantly improve my trael wardrobe! A pair of cashmere sweat pants!!!

That’s right, cashmere sweatpants :O

Needless to say, this has jumped to the top of my travel wish list.

They look so comfortable, I like the narrow leg at the end, it would go well with a good pair of flat shoes, and could be pushed up if you got too warm.

Also, they arn’t too terribly priced. This site has them for $140.00, stating regular retail price is $320.00.  And, knowing how much cashmere usually is, I could see paying $140 for them.

However, the only issue I have with these pants is the fact they have NO POCKETS!

Story of my life. Dresses, skirts, sweat pants…no pockets. What, like we don’t need to carry things or have the connivence of a damn pocket! (obviously, this is a sore spot for me haha) but it is seriously something holding me back. Especially if I am to use these for travel, not having a single pocket is a major downside. But, if you have a coat or a good bag, or a neck wallet then I suppose there are several other pockets to make up for this but I don’t like the idea of depending on other things, its always better to have a pocket in everything, especially when traveling.

Nonetheless, I just might buy them when they have my size again. I mean, its cashmere! Can you imagine how comfy you would be on that 10 hour flight, yeah.

They come in grey…

But, also come in black…

Which I think would by my choice, hides the dirt and stains that might plague you while you travel the world!

The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page.
